Writing
Write your Reflection paper on how you have developed as a writer through this course. Your analysis may be positive or negative! It's expected that you will be honest!
Your Reflection should look back over what you've learned and how you've developed as a writer throughout the course. That is your required topic. You could write about what you liked and didn't like about the course, what stood out to you, and your plans in the future regarding writing, either on your own or for college.

FRESHMAN COMPOSITION I
REFLECTION ESSAY INSTRUCTIONS
Your Reflection Essay should look back over your development as a writer during this class. It
should be a formal essay with an introduction, body, conclusion, and thesis statement.
The thesis statement normally sums up the most important thing you learned or the way you have
changed the most. It should be the last sentence of the first paragraph.
Your topic must be your development as a writer during Freshman Comp 1.
This essay covers both the “big picture” of how you see yourself developing as a writer, and the “small picture” of details about what you’ve been working to improve, what your strengths are as a writer, and anything new or interesting you learned in this class.
In the conclusion, cover how you believe you will someday use writing skills in your career –
perhaps not essay writing, but other types of writing. Discuss how what you learned in Comp I
could benefit you in the future, and/or discuss what you wish had been covered.
The essay must be 1½ to 2 pages long (minimum 300 words), typed, double-spaced, in MLA
format.
